The annual AIDS Red Dress Fashion Show went off with a hitch this year. I not only designed this year, but I also modeled in the show for one of the my all time favorites Grishley. My design was a men’s wear inspired girls look which incorporated mix media prints in a fun and girly take on menswear. The fabric was given to me courtesy of one of my favorite Children’s design companies, CachCach.

Some of you may be wondering what I was doing during my summer hiatus. Well let me show you . .

This line was created specifically for Anita G to pitch at their Costco design meeting. Even though Anita didn’t end up using this in her design pitch, it was a great learning experience working with a designer putting their ideas on paper. I am incredibly proud of what I came up with using Anita’s embellishments and textile prints and I’m excited to share it with you, my readers and to add it to my portfolio.

Change of Pace

So I’ve had a lapse in blogging as most of you can tell. My summer hiatus became extended while I’ve been trying to juggle getting back into my school work and contemplating the direction I want to take my blog. I’ve always been really interested in children design and I wanted to explore a new direction with my blog where I focus more on children style and design and less on myself. My hopes are that this will not only help inspire you, my readers, but will also help me actively seek out design inspiration along with allowing myself to become more acquainted with the kids fashion industry.

So how about a little bit of inspiration to get us started. Here are some photos I’ve collected over the past years I find interesting and compelling.

BAHHHH I couldn’t be more excited or more proud of this lovely woman! Amanda Grisham, my roommate and the best friend a girl could ask for, is showing in PORTLAND FASHION WEEK!! Her show is tomorrow night at 8:00pm anyone who is in the area should rush over and purchase tickets! This is an event you definitely wouldn’t want to miss. These shorts have been part of my 30 from the very beginning but you may be wondering why you haven’t seen them. This was one of the first things my mom asked me when she saw me wearing them. Well folks I will share with you, I just didn’t know how to wear them. Honest, I didn’t, I’m still not sure how to wear them but here was my first try. I feel like I should give it another whirl in my last five outfits. I will step back to my office (aka my closet) and reassess the situation and see what I can do! Wish me luck!

Count Down TIME!!! I have almost made it through my 30 for 30 challenge! I’ve also made it through 2 whole days at my internship! YAY! This summer is turning out to be not so shabby and I’m not even a week in. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for my three months in the sunshine

This was the perfect outfit for a nice BBQ with friends. It is from when I was still in Oregon last week . . . (I’m a little slow on my outfit posts due to all my moving around) . . before I moved back to California, but it was part of the 30 so I had to share!

Today is my first day at my Summer Internship! Wish me luck, I hope I don’t trip and fall on my face because we all know that is something very likely to happen, especially to me and my clumsy self. Fingers crossed for good luck and good fortune and that I knock the socks off my new employer!
